Real Estate

The Real Estate Practice is one of the firm’s most active divisions, led by attorneys with full-time commercial real estate experience. The division serves clients active in the real estate industry and other clients engaged in real estate transactions incidental to their other businesses. Our firm’s attorneys have a broad base of experience meeting the full-spectrum of client needs related to real estate acquisitions, development, financing, ownership, management, leasing, and disposition of commercial real estate assets. We are proud of our success in assisting clients with the unique challenges and opportunities presented by the evolving real estate industry, and particularly proud of our successes in handling office leases, shopping center leases, shopping center development, restaurant leases, outparcel acquisitions, condominium/apartment acquisitions and development, residential developments, ground leases, Brownfield remediation and redevelopment initiatives. We often manage transactions from start to completion, from letter of intent to execution of contracts and leases, and many of our clients rely on our expertise for pre- and post-closing matters, such as structuring operating agreements, creating joint ventures, or negotiating follow-on financing agreements.

Our firm represents major real estate investors in acquisitions, joint ventures, sales, financing, leasing, zoning and regulatory matters, environmental compliance, and other construction and development issues. Some of our clients include commercial banks, private investors, public and private companies, landlords and tenants, and developers (of office/industrial buildings, condominiums, shopping centers). Working with attorneys from our Corporate and other practice areas, our real estate attorneys have also assisted clients in handling workout, recovery, and bankruptcy situations.

In all our work, we put a special focus on our client’s timing requirements, experience, and priorities to ensure a smooth and efficient negotiation/completion process. We also employ a practical, business-minded approach to our representation.

Some principal areas of our practice include –
Commercial Leasing and Licensing
